Information to Prepare
Use the organization’s legal name, billing address, contact information, and the email associated with the Shopify customer account. Upload a clear, current exemption certificate or other required document that matches the purchasing entity and jurisdiction.
How the Process Works
Certificates that are expired, incomplete, unsigned, illegible, or issued for a different name or state may delay review. Some jurisdictions require additional forms or limit exemption to specific purchases, organizations, or delivery locations.
Important Conditions
Submitting an application does not automatically remove tax and does not guarantee approval. Please wait for confirmation before completing an order that must be tax exempt. Taxes already collected may require a separate review and cannot always be adjusted immediately.
